Documentation System Records DNA and Protein Gels Images
The U:Genius is a gel documentation system for recording DNA and protein gel images, providing a 2-megapixel resolution. The system features a compact darkroom with touchscreen and can accommodate any benchtop transilluminator. The universal darkroom, without a computer and using an embedded Windows XP processor, saves scientists money, as no additional transilluminator or PC is needed. The darkroom comes with internal white light for viewing and focusing. The self-stowing doors automatically turn off the transilluminator when the door is opened, preventing accidental UV exposure. The touchscreen features intuitive icons so users needing to resolve close band images rapidly can produce true 16-bit images using the EDR (extended dynamic range) icon. Images can also be rotated, sharpened and annotated.
