IR Detector Requires Minimum Bench Space
The Vapor Phase IR detector achieves the sensitivity and stability required to make capillary GC-FT-IR practical in the chromatography lab. It requires minimal bench space with optimized, dedicated optics for high sensitivity. GC-IRD integrated software provides instrument control, data analysis, and library searching capabilities, resulting in a universal, non-destructive IRD for routine to complex sample analysis. Interfacing the IRD to a GC provides chromatographic separation with molecular identification. The system will analyze routine samples, typically run on a GC-MS, and more demanding samples that are difficult to interpret by MS. In more challenging samples, it provides molecular level identification with vapor phase library searching. The sample preparation required to operate the GC-IRD is identical to that of GC-MS. The system can be interfaced with an MS to produce a GC-IRD-MS, providing chromatographic, vibrational and mass spectroscopic data from one sample injection. Applications include forensic identification, environmental analysis and petroleum and fuels analysis.
