Water Vapor Permeability Tester
The accurate, fast cycling Lyssy L80-5000 water vapor permeability tester simplifies barrier testing for high or low permeability in sensitive product packages. The easy-to-use device is suited for researchers and packaging engineers who require accurate water vapor transmission rates (WVTR). Meats, cheese, salad, snack foods, soft drinks and other products in which barrier properties are critical can be analyzed. A test sample is simply placed into the test chamber and measured intact by a highly sensitive sensor with a wide linear, dynamic range. The sensor is positioned directly within the upper test chamber to allow testing at more authentic conditions. An operator can easily move the test unit, and change the calibration if desired, in about 5 to 10 minutes to measure multiple films or a range of materials. The tester measures water vapor transmission ranges from 0.001 to 10,000 gr/m2-day. Only a single, annual calibration is required.
