Solid-State Switch Modules Perform High Voltage Switching Directly

DTI PowerMod solid-state switch modules rate at 15 kV, 300 A and can be stacked in a series as building blocks to achieve a voltage of 100 kV. Capable of direct high voltage switching without transformers and multiple conversion steps, the modules can be built into pulse modulators, DC-to-DC converters, opening switches and high voltage inverters. Featuring >99% switching efficiency or <50 V drop for a 15-kV, 300-A module, the devices are immune to arcing, emissions and other lifetime limiting factors of conventional vacuum tubes. They measure 12× 5× 3, require only a DC voltage source and an input signal, and can be passively air cooled. Each building block provides over one million hours of predicted reliability per Mil-HDBK-217F. Systems the modules are built into are built to customer specification.
