Low-Temperature Evaporative Light Scattering Detector
The ELSD-LTII low-temperature evaporative light scattering detector can detect components in a sample down to a high picogram level. Furthermore, it identifies analytes regardless of spectroscopic properties. Optimum sensitivity for trace analysis is achieved by removing the mobile phase through nebulization and taking a light scattering measurement of the dried particles using a high efficiency LED. A signal processing algorithm helps to minimize noise and optimize sensitivity. These features combine to allow a lower operating temperature and deliver high sensitivity for semivolatile compounds.
