Synthesized Phases Resemble Traditional Methyl Siloxane Phase Types
In addition to the 007-5MS column type, two new phases have been added to the GC capillary column line, the 007-1MS and 007-17MS. The “MS” column line utilizes stationary phases based on an arylene/siloxane copolymer backbone. These column types resist oxidation, resulting in reduced thermal degradation, or column bleed. By incorporating optimal starting materials and controlling the arylene/siloxane segment ratio, the synthesized phases closely resemble traditional methyl siloxane (007-1MS) and methyl/phenyl siloxane (007-17MS) phase types. McReynold’s contants and Kovat’s retention indices are used to determine the overall selectivity of the stationary phase.
