Vacuum Spectrometer Works through Extreme UV Regions
The Model 248/310 grazing incidence spectrometer works through vacuum ultraviolet, including the extreme UV (XUV) and soft X-ray wavelength regions. It includes vacuum-tight seals for the 10- to 6-Torr vacuum region and uses vacuum-prepared, clean materials. Featuring all metal seals throughout, the spectrometer can be prepared for use in the ultra high vacuum (UHV) regime, 10 to 9 Torr. UHV models can be certified by residual gas analysis prior to shipment. The short wavelength limit is around 1200 eV. The instrument uses glancing angles between 85° and 88° to maintain good throughput efficiency in the XUV. It also operates in the Rowland circle optical geometry. The 0.01-nm wavelength reproducibility is certified for each instrument shipped. Optional light source accessories enable scientific users to calibrate wavelength or intensity.
