The Forum 360 -The world’s first Scientific Instrument and Laboratory
Equipment Demonstration Center is now open in Atlanta, Georgia.
Open 240 business days, manufacturers equip their private product
demonstration suites with sample preparation, imaging/microanalysis,
spectrometry, chromatography, high throughput screening and laboratory
automation systems. By visiting one location, scientists across many
scientific disciplines can now make comparative, application-specific
buying decisions within several hours to a few days. Contact Mr. Randall Ruffin by phone at 678-528-3446, or email at inquiries@theforum360.com

Scientific Demonstration Center Embraced in Survey
The Forum 360 Scientific Instrument and Laboratory Equipment Demonstration Center, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is a demonstration facility that will house chromatography, microscopy, spectroscopy and high throughput screening instruments. Visitors to the center will be able to test as many instruments as desired at one time, in one place, scheduling appointments for themselves and colleagues when convenient.
Independent research conducted by Laboratory Equipment magazine indicates broad support for this venture. Among the publication’s readers: 18.4% thought this service would be extremely valuable; 32.9% thought is very valuable; 32.3% thought it valuable; 10.8% thought it somewhat valuable. more>>>
A Simple 5-Minute Exercise Creates Long-Lasting Organizational Results
What is the greatest organizing challenge in your laboratory? Is there a large amount of clutter on the benches or floor, in the cabinets or refrigerator? Has valuable workspace become limited? Are there areas in your lab that are unsafe, or are chemicals stockpiled inappropriately, undated and unsorted? Is chemical refuse accumulating to dangerously high levels? Do you have to go digging for supplies when you need them?
If you said “yes” to any of the above questions or have your own long list of areas in need of improvement, you will find help in this article and those in the months to follow. more>>>
Strategic Lab Management Conference – Coming in October
Lab managers need to understand a vast array of quality systems requirements--systems that require intricate documentation and workflow management. Health, safety and environmental regulations are changing rapidly, and lack of knowledge about these changes is no excuse. Attracting and retaining quality staff is a major challenge. And within the next several years, the majority of lab managers will be involved in a major expansion, retrofit, renovation or replacement of their facility.
Reed Science Group’s Strategic Lab Management Conference will show you how to manage quality issues, comply with a changing regulatory environment, transfer technology to market, reduce capital and supply costs and evaluate state-of-the-art laboratory information management systems. more>>>

Stereomicroscope, Transmitted Light Base
Leica Microsystems’ line of stereomicroscopes with transmitted light bases provides illumination for a variety of applications. The all-purpose TL ST base incorporates a halogen illumination system that provides brighfield or pseudo-darkfield transmitted light viewing conditions. The stand minimizes sample warming, which protects specimens. more>>> |

General Purpose Spectrophotometers
Beckman Coulter’s DU Series 700 UV-Vis scanning spectrophotometers provide additional capabilities for life science and general research applications. Focused beam technology and a small bandwidth ensure high levels of accuracy and reproducibility, even with minor variances in cell positioning. For very small volumes, in applications such as nucleic acid research, the series can accommodate the proprietary 50-uL microcells. more>>> |
